Kilimanjaro
This trip was organized by Crater Creations and together with an amazing group of young professionals, we hiked up to the roof of Africa and raised over 15,000 USD for the Kisharu community. Our itinerary began in Nairobi where we began traveling to Kisharu, Kenya. We spent two days living with and learning from the Maasai community, before heading to Kilimanjaro. At an altitude of 5,895 meters (19,341 ft) above sea level, Kilimanjaro is the highest mountain in Africa, the highest free-standing mountain in the world, and one of the largest volcanoes ever to burst through the Earth's crust. Our 7-day climb followed the Lemosho route, an unspoiled, remote, little used, route which offered stunning, 360-degree views and allowed for maximal acclimatization.
